Greatwide installs HTAA blood pressure monitor kiosks in fleet terminals as part of their ongoing ‘Greathealth’ driver wellness initiative

Long recognized as a leader in the industry-wide effort to promote driver health and wellness, Greatwide Dedicated Transport has in- stalled 10 blood pressure (BP) monitor kiosks in fleet terminals as part of their “Greathealth” driver wellness initiative. The kiosk program was pioneered by Rob Newell, vice president of capacity management for Greatwide, in cooperation with the Healthy Trucking Association of America (HTAA) and local vendors.
Hypertension presents a serious, ongoing health issue for professional drivers and owner-operators, and the BP kiosks make it easy for them to monitor their blood pressure at their convenience.
“At Greatwide, we care about our drivers, and we’re committed to helping them make informed decisions about their health and wellness,” says Newell. “The BP kiosks are just one piece of our ‘Greathealth’ initiative that addresses the importance of regular checkups, exercise and a balanced diet. We concentrate on health factors that can affect a driver’s ability to hold onto a CDL, such as high blood pressure, diabetes and sleep apnea. The HTAA has been a valuable partner in helping us communicate this message.”
Greatwide sponsored several BP monitor kiosks at the Health and Wellness Pavilion and Driver HEALTH booth at the recent Great American Trucking Show in Dallas.
