Fear the swine flu!

PublisherAlong with my prescription of Tamiflu, I have also been taking a large dose of humble pie lately. Here I have been preaching proper health and wellness practices, taking precautions and talking about how important it is to stay healthy. So what happens? I catch the swine flu – and yes, it really is as bad as advertised! It hit me without warning; I literally just fell to the ground shivering like crazy! As I’m writing this, I am not yet fully recovered, though I feel a thousand times better.

Ironically, I planned to use this space to brag about my latest health and wellness accomplishment – my first ever triathlon. It was a sprint distance (1/4-mile swim, 13-mile bike, 3.2-mile run). Hopefully, it’s the first of many.

I have received several calls from drivers sharing their own health and fitness success stories. Some called in about amazing weight loss success, others nominated their peers on achievements such as completing their first marathon. Please keep those calls coming; we plan on featuring several of these success stories in upcoming issues.

I hope you enjoyed reading about Alex from “Ice Road Truckers” last month. If you have anyone you would like us to feature on a front cover in the future, just give us a call or send an e-mail – after all, this magazine is for you!
