Driven Women
By Lee Tuveson
Dear GG,
How do I return my CDL? I don’t want it anymore. I’m not going to drive, so I don’t need it. If I go to the motor vehicle department, will they make me take a driving test again in a car? I've only been driving a couple of months, and in that time, it’s clear that I’m not cut out to be a trucker. I think truckers need counseling. It’s a gross job!
Driving is a lonely, dirty and boring job. Only people who don’t want to think or take on more responsibility rather than go forward are suited to be a trucker. It doesn’t take any intelligence whatsoever. The food isn’t healthy, and after taking a shower in a truck stop I felt like a needed another one. And other truckers aren’t all that friendly or nice. I’m glad I tried it, but it’s no life for me.

Hi Daphne,
Mail your license in to the DMV with the explanation you provided above. They’ll return your original license, and there’s no need to even go into the facility.
